"CHIPS" is youth theater sponsored by the Jeff Davis Arts Council and A Block Off Broadway Community Theatre.
"A Chip Off the Old Block" also known as "Chips" is open to bona fide students ages 13 to 21 verified by registration or class schedules from their respective schools.
Classes are held each Monday for no more than 1½ hours. Subjects include acting, set design, production techniques, stagecraft, costuming, make-up, and other related areas.
No experience is necessary, but a commitment to the project is required.
Students who prefer not to act will learn all other phases of the the theatrical profession; they may serve as stage hands,
costumers, stage management assistants and they will also assist in set construction.
Tuition is $30.00 per semester or $50.00 for continuing students for both semesters. Discounts will be available for families with multiple students. Limited scholarships are also available.
"CHIPS" is funded in part by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts.
